SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Assorted colors of craft paper and/or cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Floral wire
  • Paper stem wire
  • Floral tape
  • Paper markers
  • Hot glue gun/glue gun sticks

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Begin by tracing the provided patterns on assorted colors of cardstock/craft paper. Use scissors to cut out the shapes.

  2. LARGE PINK FLOWER Cut a 9" piece of floral wire and poke through the two black dots on pattern #1. Pull both ends of the wire through and twist them together to create the stem of the flower. Fold the petals upward so they appear more dimensional. Use hot glue to attach pattern #2 on top of the center of pattern #1. Fold the petals upward, then use hot glue to attach pattern #3 to the center of pattern #2. Continue to fold the petals to make the flower appear more dimensional. For patterns #4 and #5, use scissors to make small cuts along the edges of the patterns, creating a fringe. Make sure to not cut all the way across the shape, and fold the fringed edges upward. Glue pattern #4 to the center of the flower, and glue pattern #5 in the center of pattern #4. Allow glue to dry for several minutes, then attach the flower to the top of a paper stem wire, wrapping the wire around the top of the stem to secure it. Create leaves by pressing a 9" piece of floral wire through the black dots on pattern #6. Pull both ends of the wire to the bottom and twist together. Attach the leave to the paper stem by wrapping the ends of the wire around the stem. Create as many leaves as desired. Wrap floral tape all along the stem of the flower to hide all of the wire. Use markers to draw lines and designs on the petals and leaves as desired. SMALL ORANGE FLOWER Cut a 9" piece of floral wire and poke through the two black dots on pattern #1. Pull both ends of the wire through and twist them together to create the stem of the flower. Fold the petals upward so they appear more dimensional. Use hot glue to attach pattern #2 on top of the center of pattern #1. Fold the petals upward. For pattern #3, use scissors to make small cuts along the edges of the pattern, creating a fringe. Make sure to not cut all the way across the shape, and fold the fringed edges upward. Glue pattern #3 to the center of the flower. Use floral wire to create a small leaf with pattern #5; attach the small leaf to the wire stem of the flower. Create as many small flowers as desired, then attach one of the flowers to the top of a paper stem wire, wrapping the wire around the top of the stem to secure it. Attach additional flowers down the stem, spacing them out slightly. Create larger leaves by pressing a 9" piece of floral wire through the black dots on pattern #4. LEAVES Create stems with only leaves by pressing a 9" piece of floral wire through the black dots on the leaf patterns from the previous flowers. Pull both ends of the wire to the bottom and twist together. Attach the leaves to the paper stem by wrapping the ends of the wire around the stem. Create as many leaves as desired, and attach them all along the stem. Wrap floral tape all along the stem of the flower to hide all of the wire. Use markers to draw lines and designs on the petals and leaves as desired. LARGE WHITE FLOWER Cut a 9" piece of floral wire and poke through the two black dots on pattern #1. Use hot glue to attach pattern #2 on top of the center of pattern #1. Fold the petals upward, then use hot glue to attach pattern #3 to the center of pattern #2. Continue to fold the petals to make the flower appear more dimensional. For patterns #5 and #6, use scissors to make small cuts along the edges of the patterns, creating a fringe. Make sure to not cut all the way across the shape, and fold the fringed edges upward. Glue pattern #5 to the center of the flower, and glue pattern #6 in the center of pattern #5. Allow glue to dry for several minutes, then attach the flower to the top of a paper stem wire, wrapping the wire around the top of the stem to secure it. Create leaves by pressing a 9" piece of floral wire through the black dots on pattern #4. Pull both ends of the wire to the bottom and twist together. Attach the leave to the paper stem by wrapping the ends of the wire around the stem. Create as many leaves as desired. Wrap floral tape all along the stem of the flower to hide all of the wire. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a Video?? In this day of visual creation, the instructions are written as an article and not all user friendly. Typed single space and everything cramped together. Really come on Joann's...you are the visual King, Video is best for these classes.
