Quality needs to be brought back to past standards, please!
I used to love these boxes, but the quality has really gone downhill, I am so sad to say. I make baby keepsake boxes for my friends when they have their first baby - and ALWAYS use these exact boxes because they were the best, always so string and durable, even little kids could use them as stepping stools. Even as late as 2019, the boxes were still high quality. But the 2 I just purchased a couple weeks ago are horrible. I hated even using them, but I was running low on time and they were not in stock at any of my local stores, I drove over an hour to pick them up. First and foremost, the box literally fell APART. I had to add wood glue to put it together, then add screws to make sure it stayed together because I don't want the quality of the box reflecting poorly on my work. Second, the wood in the same piece fluctuates SO greatly you could not get an even stain or an even wood burn no matter how hard I tried. The person I wound up giving this too still loved it, mainly because she didn't know any better and was caught up in the idea and wood burning - BUT I know better, having used this product in the past - that it could have been a million times more beautiful. The lid doesn't even cover the front of the box any more. Come on Park Lane - its not a cheap box, please don't treat it like one. Please get the quality back up to the standards we expect. I want to keep making these boxes that are adored by new parents for years.

Cute but POORLY made bad quality
Cute design but poorly made. Ordered one and when shipped it arrived in pieces. Called and they replaced item free of charge. Received second one and one side was pulled apart wood was so rough I had to sand it and nail it and glue it back together. Did not have time to wait for a 3rd one as this was a gift project and time was almost up. Made it work but if I did not know how to use a nail gun or have wood glue and clamps and sander I would have had to call for a 3rd one.

Cute box that could have many purposes.
I bought this to paint for my cousin for her wedding as a keepsake/memory box. It came out perfectly and I didn’t have to sand it or anything. The finish on it was smooth and the inside of the box was pretty deep. The edges of the lid and top of the box had a very cute design to it so it wasn’t just plain.

Great Little Toy Chest!
Bought this on a whim shopping one day recently thinking this would be a fun project and a nice gift for my great niece (22 mos.)
I painted it white, left the inside of lid natural, and used self stick wallpaper squared ($-Tree) for the "floor" of chest. While at JoAnn's I also picked up inexpensive unfinished wood heart, and her first initial letter. Painted both, wood-glued to chest as added decorations. Perfect for all the odds and ends little toys. Very happy with purchase!!

Keepsake chest
Great for lil keepsake chests. Easy to paint stain . It has a little cord so the top doesn't slam backwards.
