DIRECTIONS:

  1. Using a rotary cutter, cut 2" strips to be sewn together for patchwork piece of fabric. Sew alternating fabrics together to create a striped block of five strips of fabric using 1/4" seam allowance.
  2. Cut 2" strips from the striped fabric you have created across the stripes. This will make blocks that will be sewn back together to make patchwork.
  3. Lay strips of fabric together to create a patchwork pattern and sew together using 1/4" seam allowances to make your patchwork piece of fabric.
  4. Download pattern piece and cut two pieces from the patchwork and two from one of the coordinating fabrics. Make sure when cutting the patchwork pieces that they match up horizontally.
  5. Match outer mask pieces right sides together and sew the outer curve. Repeat with lining pieces.
  6. Open both mask halves and press both seam allowances to the right.
  7. Match front and back pieces right sides together, matching center front seams at the top and bottom.
  8. Pin and sew around the exterior of the mask, leaving a small opening at the bottom of the mask between the center front seam and corner.
  9. Clip across corners, and clip curves taking care not to cut through the stitching.
  10. Turn mask right side out and press.
  11. Topstitch around the mask 1/4" from the edge, closing the hole at the bottom in the process.
  12. Turn sides under 1/2" to create channel for elastic and sew.
