This product made the copper i used it on turned it really dark. Almost gun medal dark. Not what i was originally going for, but i like how it turned out.

The BEST patina solution for metals
This creates the perfect antiquing patina on metals. I use it on bare copper & sterling silver. (Make sure your metal is “bare” & not clear coated like many metals are to prevent tarnish & discoloration) I absolutely LOVE this patina solution & always have a bottle on hand.

Horrible
I got this when I was black Friday shopping and figured it was more convenient then ordering online. I finally got to test it out. It's TERRIBLE. It will only oxidize my copper wire but not my silver plated copper wire or my aluminum wire. I'll be ordering liver of sulfur online

Helpful hint
It is ok to use half or 1/4 T solution in corresponding decreased amount of water if you only have a small piece to patina. Saves the solution from being wasted. Also use in well ventilated space due to fumes.

Decent product for metal patina newbies
I started making jewelry about 1.5 years ago. I tend to work a lot with wire and metal sheet. I wanted to patina some of my creations, but we have cats and a bunch of wildlife around our house and using liver of sulfur seemed like not the best idea. This may just be my inexperience talking, but this solution worked well for me. It smells awful (sulfur smell) but it gets the job done, at least for me. I usually put more of this solution in than the directions state. My first bottle did seem to go a bit off after about 7 or 8 months, but honestly I think using this is worth it to not have to deal with toxic chemicals that are difficult to dispose of, especially because the cost is reasonable.

Terrible product
The patina that this produces is awful. I've used Liver of Sulfur plenty of times to patina copper, but when my LOS went bad I had to find a quick replacement and this was the only thing I was able to find locally. I followed instructions exactly (make sure the metal is perfectly clean, followed measurements), and it's just not a good product. It clearly has LOS in it, but the patina it produces is patchy, uneven, and flakes off in some areas while remaining on others. It's very hard to control the process, even when dipping-rinsing-re-dipping to try to do a slow buildup of patina. The un-even finish is the most frustrating aspect of it. I will never use this again and frankly I regret purchasing it.
