Directions
Cast on 64 sts loosely. Divide into (20, 24, 20) sts on 3 needles.
Join in rnd, placing a marker on first st. Work 1½" [4 cm] in (K2. P2) ribbing, inc 2 sts evenly across last rnd. 66 sts.

Rep last 8 rnds for Cable Pat until work from beg measures approx 8" [20.5 cm], ending on a 3rd or 7th rnd of pat.
Slip last 6 sts from 1st needle onto beg of 2nd needle. Slip first 8 sts from 3rd needle onto end of 2nd needle. Sts are now divided as (18,38, 16) sts.
Next rnd: 1st needle: P2. (K1.K2tog. K1. P2tog) twice. K1. K2tog.

Slip rem 6 sts from heel onto beg of 1st needle. 83 sts are now divided as (22, 38, 23) sts.
1st rnd: 1st needle: Knit to last 4 sts. K2tog. K2. 2nd needle: Pat across 38 sts. 3rd needle: K2. ssk. Knit to end of needle.
2nd rnd: 1st needle: Knit. 2nd needle: Pat across 38 sts. 3rd needle: Knit.
Rep last 2 rnds until there are 65 sts divided as (13, 38, 14) sts. Keeping 2nd needle in Cable Pat, work even until foot from picked up sts at heel measures aprox 6½ (7½-8½)" [16.5 (19-21.5) cm] ending on a 3rd or 7th rnd of Cable Pat.
Next rnd: 1st needle: Knit. 2nd needle: K2. (K2tog. K2) 9 times. 3rd needle: Knit. 56 sts.
Rearrange sts as follows: Slip first st from 2nd needle onto end of 1st needle. Sts are now divided as (14, 28, 14) sts.
Shape toe: 1st rnd: 1st needle: Knit to last 4 sts. K2tog. K2.
2nd needle: K2. ssk. Knit to last 4 sts. K2tog. K2. 3rd needle: K2. ssk. Knit to end of needle.
2nd rnd: Knit.
Rep last 2 rnds until there are 16 sts divided as (4, 8, 4) sts. Graft 2 sets of 8 sts tog.
