When matching the gauge in a pattern, the project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes fewer stitches and rows to match the gauge, try using smaller size needles; if more stitches and rows, try larger size needles.
K2, p2 Rib (worked over a multiple of 4 sts)
Row 1: *K2, p2; rep from * across.
Row 2: K the knit sts and p the purl sts.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for K2, p2 Rib.
Color is changed every other row. Carry color not in use up side of work.
With A, cast on 28 sts.
Rows 1 and 2: With A, work in K2, p2 Rib.
Rows 3 and 4: With B, work in K2, p2 Rib.
Rep Rows 1-4 until piece measures about 64' from beginning.
Weave in ends.
