How To Get It

Used For: Used with thin or lightweight fabrics to stiffen, reinforce and provide shape retention on garments, costumes, accessories and crafts.

Special Benefits: Two main types of interfacing include fusible (which is applied with heat) and sew-in. They can be knit or woven, and come in a variety of weights to reinforce different kinds of base fabric.

Pellon® 975 Insul-Fleece™ is made from polyester fibers which are needle punched with an aluminized scrim binder that helps to reflect heat or cold back to its source. It is soft and comfortable for use in clothing as well as home décor and accessories projects. Insul-Fleece™ can be sewn through and, once sewn, is machine washable and dryable. Keeps hot things hot longer and cold things cold longer. Insul-Fleece™ is not heat proof or fire resistant. We suggest you use an extra layer or two of 100% cotton batting, between the outer fabric and Insul-Fleece™ for pot holders or heat resistant pads. Use caution when handling any hot surfaces. Do not iron directly on the aluminized scrim binder.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from this is quality control?? I bought a roll of this to make sleeping bag liners with. The fabric has a huge, ugly seam where two separate pieces were overlapped and tacked together to make a "continuous" roll.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product, Great Price I've been sewing and crafting professionally for over 50 yrs and joann's has always been my go-to source for supplies because of their selection, their customer service and their coupons! Although joann's sells several insulating products like this in various size pre-cut packages (I've tried them all and they all have the same degree of insulating properties) this is certainly the best value if you use alot of it. If you are a crafter, you will use alot of it, once you try it! You can use it for your typical hot pads, mitts, ironing mats, and lunchbags, but my favorite use for it is in beach bags, water bottle mitts (everyone wants their bottled water,soda or beer to stay cold), for lap/sofa quilts and coats, jackets, leg warmers, mittens and even dog blankets to keep warmer. I also use it in placemats for my end tables to not only protect the wood from water or coffee spills, but also from the heat of my laptop, which is always sitting on one table or another. I buy it like this by the bolt so I always have it on hand and if you have a coupon for it, its even a better value!.
