SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1/4 to 3/4 yards of fabric needed for each layer
- Mid-weight stabilizer
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
- Pins
- Thread to match
- Ruler
- Pattern
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut 1 outside layer
- Cut 1 inside layer (lining)
- Cut 1 mid-weight stabilizer (can substitute mid-weight fusible interfacing)
- Piece together outer fabric to desired look (it does not need to match fold lines and should be slightly longer than length of pattern). Cut out outside pattern piece using your pieced together fabric.
- Cut out inside layer and stabilizer.
- Cut a piece of fabric 1"x 20" for ties. With right sides together sew 1/4" from raw edge. Turn inside out and knot ends. Fold in half and stitch down at notch on right side of outer fabric.
- Layer stabilizer then outer fabric then lining with right sides together, sandwiching the ties in between the 2 fabric layers. Make sure to keep away from outside sewing edges.
- Stitch 1/4" S.A. all the way around, leaving a 3" opening. Trim corners and turn right side out. Slipstitch opening closed.
- Press and fold along top fold line. Mark every 3/4" to 1" or more depending on what you will be storing in it (3/4" for pencil, 1" for markers etc. - use item you will be storing in holder as your guide).
- Pin and stitch 2 outside edges and then stitch along all marked stitching lines.
- Add your items, fold over top, roll up and tie to keep your items in place.
Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:
- Great use of scraps you already have on hand.
- Mark stitching lines according to what it will be used for. Make one for your pencils, one for your paint brushes, and even one for your makeup and brushes.

Remember to download pattern
The "get pattern" download gives the exact measurements for cutting and sewing the project. I will be using this for a ministry project with my church ladies. It is simple enough to modify to individual needs yet clear enough for the whole group to follow.
