SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Fiskars Flat Alignment Tool
- Fiskars 8" non-stick scissors
- Fiskars Easy-Change detail knife
- Die-cutting machine or pre-made vinyl designs
- Vinyl for die-cutting machine
- Canvas tote bag
- Iron or Cricut EasyPress machine
DIRECTIONS:
- Following manufacturer's directions, use your die-cutting machine to cut activity words from iron-on vinyl. If you don’t have a die-cutting machine, you can still create this project by purchasing pre-made iron-on vinyl decals.
- Once your decals are ready, use non-stick scissors to trim the lettering. These scissors are perfect for this step as the non-stick coating helps keep the vinyl output intact without ripping or having it stick to your blades. Next, weed the excess iron-on vinyl. You can use a craft knife to help with this step.
- Prepare the Fiskars Flat Vinyl Alignment Tool following the steps below.
- Press the button to release the arm and adjust up to the maximum height. Place your canvas tote bag underneath. For best results, a cutting mat may be used as a centering tool, as well as to hold the base of the tool in place.
- Load your transfer tape onto the fingers. Adjust fingers to support the width of the decal and weave in between, ensuring that the adhesive side is affixed to the two outer fingers.
- Adjust the placement of the decal to its desired position on your canvas bag by either pushing or pulling the arm forward or backward, or by moving the actual project left or right.
- Once the decal is in the desired position, press the button to lower the fingers and arm.
- Apply pressure to the middle of the decal to secure to your project.
- Raise arm and slide the project away from the tool. You may need to help release the transfer tape from the outer fingers.
- Following manufacturer's directions, iron the iron-on vinyl to the canvas tote to secure.
