Personalized Dog Bandana Holder

Beginner Weekend Project
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • 1 unfinished house frame
  • 1 bottle of white and red acrylic paint
  • 1 medium paint brush
  • 1 small paint brush
  • 2 small hooks from hardware store
  • 1 medium dowel rod
  • 1 small can of black spray paint
  • Drapery hanger circles with pinchers
  • 1 roll of black Siser EasyPSV Permanent Vinyl
  • Cricut machine
  • Bandanas - 1/2 yard of fabric for each bandana
  • Iron
  • Sewing machine
  • Thread
  • Scissors

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Paint the base of the house using the medium paintbrush with the white paint. Let it dry.
  2. Use the smaller paint brush and paint the red trim onto the edges of the house to make it look like a doghouse.
  3. Cut the dowel rod to be larger than the house width by 1".
  4. Paint it white.
  5. Paint the hooks black and let them dry.
  6. Insert the black hooks into the bottom of the red frame of the house.
  7. Slide the drapery hangers onto the white dowel rod.
  8. Slide the painted white dowel road into the hooks.
  9. Place the Bandanas onto the black hangers.
  10. Create the dog name and the black dog bone in Design Space and cut them out on your Cricut machine.
  11. Place the name and dog bone on the finished white house centered and near the top.
  12. Bandanas - Cut out a square from the fabric. Fold it right sides together on the diagonal.
  13. Pin the edges together.
  14. Sew the bandana completely around the edge, leaving a 3" wide opening.
  15. Reverse the fabric to right sides out.
  16. Top stitch the border 1/8" in which will also close the opening as well.
  17. Create dog name in Design Space and cut out of Siser EasyPSV Permanent Vinyl.
  18. Place the name as you choose on the side of the bandana and iron in place.

JOANN HACKS:
  • Apply two coats of white paint to the house to make a better seal for the vinyl letter to adhere well.
