SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Unfinished wood shelf
  • White acrylic paint
  • Medium flat brush
  • Water & paper towels for cleanup
  • Pegs (one for each person)
  • ABC wood letters (choose the first letter of each family member's name)
  • Drill & 11/64 drill bit
  • Hammer
  • X-Acto® blade
  • Mod Podge
  • Scrapbook paper (one sheet of each design for each person/letter)
  • Cutting mat
  • Packaging tape
  • Ruler
  • Hot glue gun/glue gun glue

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Using a ruler mark out the spacing for your letters on the front of the shelf and drill a hole about 1/4-1/2" up from the bottom of the front of the shelf. Drill in 1/4".
  2. Hammer in the pegs to each hole until the pegs are tightly in place and all even with each other.
  3. Paint the shelf, pegs and letters white (you will need one letter for each family member). Set aside to dry, and apply additional coats of paint as needed until everything is solid white.
  4. While your shelf is drying you can wrap your sanitizer with scrapbooking paper to create custom hand sanitizers for each person. To do this wrap them like you would a present, leaving the cap uncovered so its easy to open and close. Cover the paper with packaging tape for added durability and to seal the paper from water and dirt. Once covered set aside.
  5. Once the letters are dry, apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to the front of each letter and burnish on scrap booking paper. When the Mod Podge is dry, trim around the letter removing the excess paper.
  6. Using hot glue, glue one letter over each peg to designate with peg if for each person. Store the sanitizer on the shelf above each mask coordinating the paper used to wrap the sanitizer with the paper on the letter.
  7. Hang in an easily-accessible location in your home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mask holder I think it’s a great idea. Hang the rack by the door you use most; hang your clean mask on it. Simple and easy project that you can tailor to fit your family’s needs. Thanks

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Idea This was a great project for our home. I made the spacing of the masks with plenty of room in between, but used the holder for the clean masks immediately following washing. I do not believe this is intended for anything other than clean masks. Great project!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So unsanitary Really. Let’s all hang our masks we’ve been wearing that’s full of germs and lord only knows what else next to each other. Let’s take a cloth we’ve been breathing thru that’s moist and roll it up nice and tight to fit into this tiny little pouch.
