DIRECTIONS:
-
All seams are 5/8" unless stated.
- Cut bodice and sew as instructed on pattern instructions.
- For Peplum: use the View B of the doll skirt. Trace doll skirt pattern on Kraft paper (the doll skirt pattern is the proper length for bodice peplum). Add to side seams to fit the waistline of bodice. Cut 5 lines on the front and back each into traced pattern up to waistline sewing line. Spread cuts 1 1/2" each to make the fullness for the peplum. Cut out front and back of star light tulle and 2 of satin. Pin tulle and one satin together and treat as one. Sew side seams of front and back together. Sew bottoms together, turn, press then sew to waistline.
- Cut 2 of top tier 11 1/2"x the width of tulle.
- Cut 2 of the second tier 14 1/2"x the width of tulle.
- Cut 2 of the third tier 18"x the width of tulle.
- Cut 6 of hard netting 18"x the width of netting. Will make into 3 layers.
- Overlap slightly the 2 pieces of tulle and netting to equal one width (no need to seam together). Layer the 3 tiers and hard netting, and gather all tulle and netting to equal the width of waistline of bodice. Gather crepe skirt to fit the waistline. Sew tulle, netting and crepe to waistline and serge.
- Insert zipper.
- Trim netting or any ragged edges to desired length. Hem crepe under skirt to desired length.
