  • Bernat® Handicrafter™Cotton Geometric (12 oz/340 g; 608 yds/556 m)
  • Contrast A Pumped Up Pink or color of choice, 1 ball or 160 yds/145 m
  • Contrast B Purple Perk or color of choice, 1 ball or 38 yds/35 m
  • Contrast C Lively Lime or color of choice, 1 ball or 50 yds/45 m
  • Contrast D Intense Blue or color of choice, 1 ball or 33 yds/30 m
  • Note: 1 ball of each of all shades will make 3 Pot Holders.
  • Size U.S. 6 (4 mm) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • Tape measure
  • Scissors

MEASUREMENT:
Approx 11" [28 cm] square.

GAUGE:
19 sts and 36 rows = 4" [10 cm] in garter st.

DIRECTIONS:
FRONT
Basic Block
With Color 1, cast on 1 st.
**1st row: (WS). (K1. yo. K1) in st. 3 sts.
2nd row: Kfb. Knit to end of row.
Rep last row until there are 11 sts. Break Color 1.
With Color 2, rep 2nd row until there are 35 sts. Break Color 2.

Next row: With Color 3, K2tog. Knit to end of row.
Rep last row until there are 3 sts.
Next row: Sl1. K2tog. psso. Fasten off.

1st Block: Work as given for Basic Block, having A as Color 1, B as Color 2, D as Color 3.
2nd Block: Work as given for Basic Block, having D as Color 1, C as Color 2, A as Color 3.
3rd Block: Work as given for Basic Block, having B as Color 1, A as Color 2, C as Color 3.
4th Block: Work as given for Basic Block, having D as Color 1, C as Color 2, B as Color 3.

Using flat seam, sew Blocks tog as shown in photo, having cast on sts at center of Dishcloth.

Top and Bottom edging: With RS facing and C, pick up and knit 51 sts evenly across bottom edge of dishcloth. Knit 2 rows. Cast off knitwise.
With D, rep for opposite (top) edge.

Side edging: With RS facing and A, pick up and knit 55 sts evenly across side edge of dishcloth. Knit 2 rows. Cast off knitwise.
With B, rep for opposite side.

BACK:
With A, cast on 1 st.

1st row: (K1. yo. K1) in stitch. 3 sts.
2nd row: Kfb. Knit to end of row.
Rep last row until side measures same length as Front before edging.

Decrease as follows:
Next row: K2tog. Knit to end of row.
Rep last row until 3 sts rem.
Next row: Sl1. K2tog. psso. Fasten off.

With WS facing each other, sew Front and Back using whip stitch (over edge) at pick up row of borders.
