SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Park Lane™ Trendy Florals Paper Pad
  • American Crafts Open Stock Vintage Lined Paper
  • Paper scraps
  • Green cardstock scraps
  • Vellum
  • Large branch punch
  • Hearts confetti punch
  • Large leaf branch punch
  • Thickers
  • Premium Paper Trimmer
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive
  • Enamel Dots
  • Sewing Machine (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Trim Vintage Lined Paper to about 11"x 11" and adhere to bottom right corner of green cardstock from the Park Lane Trendy Florals Paper Pad. Stitch around the edges if desired.
  2. Trim patterned paper scraps into thin strips. (These do not have to be perfect.)
  3. Arrange and adhere them in color order down the right side of the background, stitching some strips if desired.
  4. Adhere photo. It is not completely necessary but using dimensional adhesive will leave a bit of space to tuck in the leaves near the top of the photo.
  5. Punch leaves and branches from various shades of green cardstock scraps and vellum. Tuck them into the top of the photo and adhere.
  6. Add title using Happy Life Thickers directly to your photo if there’s room. If not, place it below the photo.
  7. Punch small hearts from some of the same scraps used on the background strips. Adhere them tone-on-tone using dimensional adhesive.
  8. Embellish with enamel dots coordinating with patterned paper strips.

JOANN HACKS:

  • You do not need a lot of each pattern for this technique, but it creates a real impact.
  • Try this same technique with a rainbow pattern or even a monochromatic color scheme.
