Cardboard Bobbins Work Better
The slits in these don't hold the threads. It's a nice idea to have the stiffness of the plastic but the suits are too wide.

I love these!!!
These bobbins are better than the ones I use to buy many years ago when I first started Cross Stitching. Now that I am getting into it again, I love these plastic ones!

The older ones were better
I have some of these plastic bobbins that are a couple decades old and the thread retentions slits are much tighter. The slits on these are too wide to adequately hold the end of the skein so my thread box has a bunch of loose thread ends. I had to wrap the new bobbins with tape so they would do their job

Sturdy and clean
I prefer to use these over the cardboard ones because they last longer and stay nicer longer. Carboard ones hold the floss a little bit better but I can fit these plastic ones in a larger variety of containers, they don't rip off the rings, and they don't tatter with use. I have several methods for marking my floos on plastic bobbins. I'm not sure which one I like best yet as I only reciently started switching it up. I use to just tape the number tag to the plastic bobbin so that the number was visible at the bottom and moved on from there. Sharpie comes off eventually because the plastic isn't porrus enough. The stickers stay if the bobbin is clean when it is applied and doesn't get warm, which is a problem for travel. I love using the rings to group projects on that way I don't have to hunt for the bobbin when I need more floss.

Embroidery floss holder
I bought these years ago to organize my embroidery floss after opening up the skeins. I Love this product as it keeps your floss from getting all knotted & raveled up & there is a metal ring holder to carry the floss holders around,which is great when traveling so you keep all your things together without getting lost. Those who buy the thicker embroidery floss for quilting can use these too for the skeins too. A must have for embroiders & quilters to keep organized in their craft room & fir when traveling

These are a must have!
As an avid crafter of all types organization is a must. These plastic bobbins are durable yet lightweight and keep my floss organized in more than one way. Because of the hole in the top of the bobbins, they can be put on a ring, however because of their compact size they fit into a regular floss storage box. Note: I have also used these for yarn in small amounts of light weight with no problems.

Great for Ribbon Storage/Card Making/Scrapbooking
Hi
I use these to store 1 yd of ribbon. I can write the manufacturer on the side and keep about 90 of these in one plastic storage container. Great for taking to a crop. I have well over 1000 varieties of ribbon and I store all my small width ribbon on these cards.
