SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 2/3yd 54" home decor fabric (approx 24"x 24" per chair seat)
  • 2"x 15"x 17" high density foam
  • Staple gun and 3/8" staples
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Using a chair with 15" square seat (As in example. Amount of fabric and foam will differ for larger seat.)
  2. Cut a 24" square of fabric.
  3. Finish edges of fabric (zig zag or serge).
  4. Cut the foam to 15" square, or use the wood piece from your chair seat.
  5. Lay fabric RSD on firm surface.
  6. Center foam on top.
  7. Center wood seat.
  8. Stretch fabric around center back, staple then center the front, then staple.
  9. Repeat with both sides.
  10. Fold in corners, making a neat pleat and staple.
  11. Reinforce with staples where needed.
