  • Lily® Sugar'n Cream®
  • contrast a Hot Blue (1 ball)
  • contrast B White (1 ball)
  • contrast c Red (1 ball)
  • contrast D Warm Brown (1 ball)
  • note: 1 ball each of A, B, C and D will make approx 10 Dishcloths.
  • Size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge
20 sts and 26 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking st.

MEASUREMENTS
Approx 7" [18 cm] wide x 8 1/2" [21.5 cm] tall (excluding 'popsicle stick').

DIRECTIONS:

With A, cast on 30 sts.
1st row: (WS). *K1. Inc 1 in next st. Rep from * to end of row. 45 sts
2nd row: K1. *Sl1. K1. Rep from * to end of row.
3rd row: K1. *P1. K1. Rep from * to end of row. Rep last 2 rows for pat until work from beg measures 2 1/2" [6 cm], ending on a 3rd row. Break A. Join B and cont even in pat until work from beg measures 5" [12.5 cm]. Break B. Join C and work 4 rows even in pat.
shape top: 1st row: (RS). K1. Sl1. K2tog. psso. Pat to last 4 sts. K3tog. K1.
2nd row: K1. *P1. K1. Rep from * to end of row. Rep last 2 rows until there are 9 sts, ending on a WS row. Cast off knitwise (RS).

Popsicle stick
With D, cast on 10 sts, beg with a purl row, work 3 rows reverse stocking st. Cast off purlwise (RS).

Finishing
Sew Popsicle Stick to bottom of Dishcloth as shown in picture.
