Crafting together has mental health benefits for kids individually & benefits the parent/child relationship, as well. For a child, making a project like this one can be gratifying & build self-esteem. Working alongside their caregiver, they feel connected & appreciated, especially when they don’t feel pressured to do things exactly “right”. As they work together, they can have healthy conversations about anything – even those difficult topics that might otherwise be hard to discuss.

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 9"x 12" felt in desired colors
- Tacky glue
- Scissors
- Pattern templates
DIRECTIONS:
- With a 9"x 12" piece of felt, on one of the short sides, make a mark in the middle (4.5" from top and bottom).
- Draw a line from the middle mark to the opposite top corner. Draw another line from the middle mark to the opposite bottom corner. Cut out the pennant shape.
- Cut out the pattern pieces using the pattern templates.
- Glue the side piece to the edge of the pennant.
- Glue the ties to the back of the pennant.
- Glue the pennant design pieces to the front of the pennant.
