How To Get It

The Dritz Ezy-hem Gauge with Metric Measurements flaunts a perfect combination of curves and right angles and is ideal for pressing turned edges and straight or curved hems. It will make a handy addition to your stitching kit. You can also use this hem gauge for shaping waistbands, belts, pockets and more.

  • Brand: Dritz
  • Size: 0.25 inch to 4 inches (Straight Edge) & 0.25 inch to 2.5 inches (Curved Edge)
  • Designer: Edna Bryte Bishop
  • Care: Use with a steam iron. Always test fabric sample for proper heat and moisture. Protect fabrics that water spot with a Dritz press cloth
  • Warning: Ezy-Hem may be hot while pressing. Attach a quilter's ruler handle to gauge for easy handling. Press all hems from the fold up. This eliminates ridge marks on the right side of the fabric

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Helpful [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never actually thought I needed a hem guage, Boy was I mistaken!! I wonder now how I ever got along without one. The DRITZ EZY-HEM hem guage makes hemming easier and faster in my opinion becauce you have all of your measurements right at your fingertips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I have been making a lot of small bags for doggie bags that needed to be folded for the elastic to go through and this is just what I needed to Not burn my fingers with every one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for My Purpose! I've been making masks, and this helps with pressing down the folds for the tie channels (I don't sew the elastic in, I don't like the way the masks sits around the ears when I do). I was afraid I would burn myself on this since I was using a Mini Easypress, but it cools off pretty quickly and it's large enough I can keep my fingers away from the heated parts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dritz EZHem Gauge The ez hem helped me mark my hem for much more accurate results. You can press the fabric with gauge inside the hem. Beware of the heat and you should do fine. Both sides are marked. I discovered this AFTER I had used this the first time. A happy discovery!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay for some things, not others I found this very helpful for doll size clothes since I could turn some serious hems and edges up quickly; but for people clothes it just wasn't worth it. It was too short for me to press hems and other long edges, and it was taking way too much time and effort when pressing 5" at a time. I made the decision to upgrade to the Clover Hot Ruler.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So helpful! I usually dislike hemming, but this really speeds up the process! It's easy to use and has different markings on both sides. I first used it for some basic curtains and it made things so much simpler. I definitely recommend it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just okay Can not be used for hemming items with a straight edge, such as a table cloth, because not only are there no straight lines there are no corresponding markings on the other side to use either. Too expensive for what it does. Additionally, one end was crimped over and I had to use pliers to pull it back and then hammer it flat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have!! I am a new to sewing and this product has helped with me create straight and curved hems. You can measure and press the hem all the same time. It has helped me complete my projects a lot faster and they are neater. It is worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Tool This is the best tool for speedy hem and casing measurements. You can press up a fabric hem or edge in record time. I help many young 4-hers with sewing projects and this tool is great! New sewers shy away at the price tag, but it is worth the money and lasts for a long time. My own daughters won't sew without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a sewing essential! I love my Dritz Hem Gauge. I have had one for years and use it constantly. It is great for hemming pants legs. Who wants to measure and mark each hem, turn each hem then press each hem? Combine the hem gauge with a sleeve board and you can measure, turn and press the hem all at one time. I use it when sewing, crafting or quilting. I have even been able to "add" additional measurements I frequently use by scratching a line at the appropriate spot on the gauge using a straight edge and sturdy pin. I have used mine so much in the past 15 years I have worn the numbers off and I am having to replace it now. I highly recommend this product.
