SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • hildie & jo™ chain, gold
  • Gold lobster clasp
  • 3 strands Winlead ornament beads
  • 2 strands hildie & jo glass beads
  • 46mm Beadalon beading wire
  • 2 crimp beads, gold
  • Needle nose pliers
  • Wire cutters

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Thread onto the beading wire the beads in the following pattern:
  2. Large stone bead, small glass bead every other until you have 4 of each. Then you will add 2 large stone beads and continue with the small, large every other until there are 4 more of each on the other side. This will give you 2 large beads together in the middle. (Here's a visual guide for the pattern: OoOoOoOoOOoOoOoOoO)
  3. Thread on a crimp bead to the end of the beading wire, loop the end back through the crimp bead to create a loop and secure in place by crimping the bead with pliers.
  4. Repeat on the other side so both sides of the beaded strand have loops. Make sure to remove any slack between the beads before securing the loops. Trim off any excess wire after crimping the beads in place.
  5. Add a clear decorative ball bead that came with the puka beads to the middle of your beaded strand between the two larger stone beads. Next add a puka shell to the bottom loop of the clear ball bead.
  6. To create the smaller decorative hanging beads, take one of the clear decorative ball beads and cut the loop from one end with wire cutters. Take off one of the metal decorative pieces and the clear bead and replace it with one of the smaller glass beads from the stone strand. Add the metal decorative piece to the strand and fold over the wire to secure in place. Trim the wire if it's too long so the beads are snug on the wire. Add this small decorative bead below the puka shell.
  7. Add 4 puka shells to each side above the smaller glass beads. Use Photo as a visual guide. You will want to have them above the smaller beads and not the larger ones so that they hang correctly.
  8. Create 6 more of the smaller decorative hanging beads the same as step 5. Connect them to the 3 puka shells on either side of the middle, leaving the two end shells plain.
  9. Trim the loops from the bottom of the end puka shells with wire cutters to remove the un needed loops.
  10. Add Clear decorative beads to either side of the beaded strand onto the loops you created with crimp beads. Attach them using the loop on the bead. Attach the other side of the loop on the bead to the chain.
  11. Decide the length you want you necklace to be by measuring how it falls on your neck line and trim the chain links accordingly with wire cutters. _x000B_Add a lobster clasp to the middle of the chain.

Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:
