DIRECTIONS:

  1. Protect your work surface with paper or plastic (recommended) and assemble supplies & tools.
  2. Squeeze approximately 2 TBSP of gesso onto the palette paper. Using a brush, paint the entire viewable area of the pumpkin with gesso. Let sit until completely dry, could take up to 24 hours.
  3. Prepare paint. Add pouring medium & paint into 3 plastic cups with quantities below:
  4. Cup 1: 2tbsp Pouring Medium + 1 1/2 teaspoons Titanium White.
  5. Cup 2: 2tbsp Pouring Medium + 1 1/2 teaspoons Mars Black.
  6. Cup 3: 2tbsp Pouring Medium + 1 1/4 teaspoons Yellow Oxide + 1/4 teaspoons Cadmium Orange.
  7. Mix each color using clean craft stick for each cup, until all the pouring medium is incorporated.
  8. Ensure pumpkin is on a level surface and can remain on the surface for drying time before beginning the pour.
  9. Starting with the yellow/orange mixture, slowly pour about a third of the mixture around the top of the pumpkin, allowing the paint to spill down the sides.
  10. Slowly pour about a third of the black mixture around the top of the pumpkin, allowing the paint to spill down the sides.
  11. Slowly pour about a third of the white mixture around the top of the pumpkin, allowing the paint to spill down the sides.
  12. Repeat this process in color order 2 more times until all the cups are empty or until desired look is achieved.
  13. Allow 24-48 hours to dry.
