DIRECTIONS:
- Cut and sew together all 5 patchwork pieces using the attached patterns for reference. Use a 1/4" seam allowance. When they are completed, square off your final pieces with the rotary cutter and ruler. This will give you nice clean rectangles and squares. Press as you go.
- To hide your unfinished edges on each patchwork piece, fold about 1/4" of the unfinished edge to the back. Press. The edges will now be hidden from view (and unraveling) as you sew them to the jeans.
- Place each piece where you would like them to sit on the jeans and pin tightly into place.
- Hand stitch around the edges of all 5 pieces using an invisible stitch. Use your ironed/folded edge as your guide.
JOANN HACKS:
- Make sure to press and fold your seams as you piece together. This will make it much easier to sew them together.
- To complete the pinwheel patchwork piece, you only need to sew 2 sets of squares together (because this will yield all 4 triangle/square pieces). Use a ruler to draw a straight line from corner to corner of each square. Sew 2 lines a scant 1/4" along each side of the line. Cut along the line to separate the pieces.
