DIRECTIONS:
INSIDE PAGES:- Following the instructions included with the Pocket Punch Board, create seven notched pockets in a variety of patterned papers and in a variety of sizes. For my album I created the following pockets:
- Rainbow Circles Paper:
- Dots Paper:
- Patchwork Floral Paper:
- Rainbow Hearts Paper:
- Pink Lines Paper:
- Blue Patterned Paper:
- Rainbow Horizontal Stripes Paper:
HIDDEN HINGES SPINE:
- Cut white cardstock to measure 8"x 2 1/2".
- Using the score guide on the We R The Works Tool, score on the 8" side every 1/2".
- Accordion fold on the score lines.
- Apply double sided adhesive tape to one side of each valley (or dip).
- Bring the accordion together, adhering all the folds to create the spine with hinged tabs.
- There should be an unadhered single flap on each end for adhering the spine to the covers.
COVERS:
- Cut (2) white cardstock pieces measuring 12"x 4" Score on the 12" side at 6".
- Fold on the score lines.
- Use double sided tape to adhere the flaps at each end of the spine to the inside of the front and back covers.
- Just open up the front folded cover piece, adhere the back of the spine flap to the inside edge, then fold the cover back down and adhere to the top of the spine flap.
- Repeat for the back cover. The spine will be at the center, connected to the front and back cover pieces on each end.
SPINE WRAP:
- Cut the Rainbow Paper to measure 5 1/2"x 4". Score on the 5 1/2" side at 2 1/2" and 3".
- Fold on the score lines.
- Wrap around the exposed spine on the outside of the book.
- Adhere to the front and back covers, leaving the area at the spine free of adhesive.
- Use a scrap piece of Horizontal Rainbow Stripe Paper to add an additional border on both the front & back covers.
- My scraps measure 1/2"x 4". Add a gold Thickers title to the front cover.
- I also fussy-cut a heart from the Heart Patterns Paper and placed it on the cover slightly under the title.
PAGE ASSEMBLY:
- Stack the pocket pages in an order that you like.
- Adhere each page to a spine flap inside the book using double sided tape.
- Fill the pockets with journaling cards, photos, or anything you like!
- I created pull tabs for each of my pocket inserts by stapling scrap strips of paper to each insert, lining up the pull tabs with the notches on the pockets.
- I also added gold puffy hearts to each tab from the Thickers sticker sheet.
CLOSURE:
- Close the mini-album and line up the covers.
- Use the Crop-a-Dile to punch holes in the front and back covers, centered at the right edge.
- Thread a length of string or ribbon through the holes as a closure.
