DIRECTIONS:
- Iron Wonder Under onto the wrong side of the pieces of fabric for the rainbow.
- Trace the template pieces onto each piece of fabric. Make sure to flip the templates when tracing so that when you flip the fabric over it will go in the correct direction.
- Remove the paper from the wonder under on the back of each piece of the rainbow fabric pieces.
- Lay the rainbow pieces onto the canvas base piece spacing them approximately 1/2" apart. Leaving a gap of the base fabric to show through each color. Position the pieces so they are 1" from the edge of the canvas piece on the bottom and left side.
- Iron in place following the directions on the wonder under.
- Use a ruler to draw a line on the right side of the canvas fabric 1" from the rainbow you just ironed in place. Draw another line 3" from the top of the highest pink rainbow piece.
- Cut along the lines to create the banner.
- Fold back the edges around the bottom and both sides of the banner 1/2" and iron the crease in place.
- Cut 1/4" strips of wonder under and iron to secure the side and bottom edges in place to the back of the banner.
- Fold the top down so you have a large enough opening for the dowel rod and secure in place with a strip of wonder under by ironing it in place.
- Tie yarn to each end of the dowel rod to hang the banner. The length will depend on how far you want the banner to hang.
JOANN HACKS:
- Depending on the thickness of the yarn, you may want to braid a couple pieces of yarn together for the hanger piece in step 11.
