Recover Outdoor Lounge Chair Cushions

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 5 yards 54" home dec or outdoor fabric
  • 13 yards 5/32" cording
  • 81 1/2"x 24 1/2"x 2 3/4" chaise cushion
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

NOTE:1/2" seam allowance
These instructions are sized according to the cushions we are recovering. Please measure your own cushions and add a 1/2" border for seam allowance. Or you may purchase 2" thick foam and have it cut to make new cushions.
  1. Cut two 81 1/2"x 25 1/2" fabric - top and bottom.
  2. Cut two 82 1/2"x 3 3/4" side box.
  3. Cut two 25 1/2"x 3 3/4" side box.
  4. Cut 1 1/2" bias strips to make 13 yards.
  5. Cover cording with fabric.
  6. Add cording to both top and bottom.
  7. Seam 3 3/4" edges of all four sides to form rectangle.
  8. RST stitch side edges to top.
  9. Repeat with bottom except leave one end open.
  10. Turn RSO.
  11. Insert cushion.
  12. Slipstitch closed.

  • Use zipper foot for making and attaching cording.
