Excellent quality and price.
The Cherry Red Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo skein of yarn is perfect. The color is just the right shade of red, and at 14 oz/396g it will last through several projects! As usual, the yarn has a wonderfully soft hand. Excellent quality at an excellent price!

No dye lot? That is a lie.
I am almost at the end of crocheting a blanket but I needed one more skein of the Red Heart Super Saver “Aran”. I originally bought the jumbo skein, but when I went to buy new Aran yarn, the color was off (more yellow, instead of the sandy color I wanted). So, I then bought the regular super saver. That one was different from the other two. If these are “No dye lot” then why are all 3 a different color?

Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo Yarn Bonbon color lot
This is my first experience in lots of the same color (Bonbon) being different. Original skein was like bubble gum colors and new skein i ordered is in an autumnal range. I can not continue with my project. Even though the gauge is the same this yarn feels bigger and doesn’t have the same luster. The first set of skeins I used were lustrous and beautiful. This new set in the same color is very disappointing.

I used Red Heart yarn to create a complicate pattern for afghans for my adult grandchildren. The comments I received were thrilling. Everyone was awed with the finished product. Needless to say, my adult grandchildren loved their afghan. My daughter even requested one of them for herself.

Gets Soft After Washing
I've read a lot of reviews that say this yarn is scratchy. Yes, it is when working with it, but when I wash something made with it, I use softener in the washer and a dryer sheet when I dry it. It softens right up. No need to soak it in shampoo and conditioner before washing as I've read on some sites. Someone told me that Red Heart uses a coating on their yarn. This might be true!

The cost is outrageous stupid way to high so no more enjoying the hobby. You enjoy. Thanks to over priced yarn and worse than sandpaper. I agree with
No more yarn from any company. Like sandpaper yuck no one wants rough yarn for anything. Shame on yarn makers. Can't afford the trippling of the worse crappy yarn produced and over price the sandpaper for any craft unless you want to it for sanding products that Need sanded.

Broken in middle of skien
I love this color but every time I try to buy it it’s always broken halfway and tied back together in a knot. Very uncool I’m very unhappy and disappointed because it’s such a beautiful color scheme.

Scratchy
I bought 2 skeins to make a baby afghan & the yarn was scratchy & splitting. I've never had this problem with Red Heart before & was super disappointed. The quality of this yarn is terrible. I got the soft white & I don't know if the other colors are the same, but I will be sure to check more carefully in the future if I ever decide to purchase this brand again. What a disappointment! I'm just glad I returned it before I spent hours making a blanket.

Love the larger skeins!!!
However, this yarn is so scratchy that it feels as if I’m trying to crochet sandpaper! It so uncomfortable to work with, it’s makes the blanket I was hoping to make seem pointless. No one wants to cuddle with sandpaper. 8 full skeins I can’t use, I’m going to try and soften them by washing a couple times but I think I’ve wasted my money.

Diminished Quality
The grey heather color was a nice quality before. I had a few skeins and decided to start a blanket. I needed to order more grey heather and I’m very disappointed in this new yarn. It’s very noticeably different than my previous grey heather skeins from this brand. The texture is rough, it’s bulkier, and it splits badly. This is hard to work with and I really dislike the stiff, scratchy texture! Now my blanket is going to be soft and nice on one end and scratchy on the other end. Why’d you ruin this yarn? you ruined my blanket!

Consistent Red Heart Super Saver
I have crocheted several afghans using Red Heart Super Saver (RHSV) including king size comforter size with matching pillowcases. Although RHSV is not the most economical yarn, I try to catch them on various sales for my afghans and other large projects. I love that it is machine washable and consistent in color which is a must in purchasing yarns for large projects with many colors. I almost always alter pattern for color or finishing touch to suit my preference or person I'm gifting, so the consistency in color and thickness are traits of RHSV I rely on time and time again.

Color change
I love making amigurumi with red heart yarn, but I'm sad now. I used aran colored yarn for my dolls but they have changed the color from a creamy beige color to a stark grey white color, which i can't use now. I'm hoping at some point it will go back, but now I need to find a new color yarn.

This yarn is great for toys, hats or really anything. Its really the same as super saver, but better yardage, if you are planning a blanket, use this. Good colors too!
