SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1 - Fat Quarter Fabric (18" x 20") for mask
- 12" - 2" wide reflective tape
- 1 - Fat Quarter for bias ties
- ¼ yd - Lightweight fusible interfacing
- Basic sewing supplies
DIRECTIONS:
- To print the patterns, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above).
- Cut 4 - main pattern for mask adding 1/4" both sides for casing. (2 for lining and 2 for outside)
- Cut 4 - interfacing
- Fuse interfacing to main 4 pieces of mask.
- Match two pieces of fabric mask right sides together, and sew the outer curve using 3/8" seam allowance
- Repeat with remaining two pieces.
- Open pieces and press both seam allowances to the right.
- Top stitch down the seam allowance, about 1/4" from the seam.
- Cut 2 reflective tape pieces for each side of mask front.
- Pin to front of mask 1" from sides and stitch in place.
- Match front and back pieces right sides together, nesting center front seams.
- Pin and sew around the exterior of the mask, leaving a small opening at the bottom of the mask for turning.
- Turn mask out and press.
- Top stitch edge of mask, closing the hole at the bottom in the process.
- Fold both sides to back 1/4" and sew at edge forming a casing.
- For ties - cut 4 to 5 - bias strips 1 1/4" wide.
- Stitch strips together at short ends.
- Fold biass trips in half lengthwise and press.
- Fold edges into center and press again.
- Top stitch along open edge..
- Cut strip in half and insert each piece through casing.
