SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1 Agate silicone mold
  • 1 Bottle of UV resin
  • 1 Set of pigments: pink, purple, white, blue, gold metallic
  • UV light
  • 1 Set of embellishments: gold leaf, silver leaf, gold glitter, silver glitters, pink glitter
  • 1 Wooden skewer
  • 1 Tube of Quick Grip glue
  • 1 Packet of nickel magnets

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Place a thin layer of resin into the bottom of one of the agates in the mold. Add two drops of a color and one drop of white. Mix the two colors with the wooden skewer.
  2. Put the UV light on the colored resin for 30 seconds.
  3. Repeat layering the resin again in another thin layer and harden with the UV light.
  4. Continue to put in layers like this until you have reached the top of the mold. Pop the resin agate out of the mold and put the UV light on it again for 60 seconds.
  5. Place a thin layer of resin on the top and then harden with the UV light.
  6. Place a thin layer of Quick Grip glue on the sides of the agate and roll the agate into the glitter or gold/silver leaf. Do this completely around the agate on the sides. Let it dry.
  7. Glue a magnet on the backside with the Quick Grip Glue.

JOANN HACKS:

  1. Don’t over mix the pigments of you want to see veining in the agate. When mixing the pigments, drag your wooden skewer around the circle of the mold.
