Resin Ribbon Keychain

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• 1 Wilton ribbon silicone mold
• 1 Bottle of UV Resin
• 1 UV resin light
• 1 Packet of assorted glitters
• 1 Packet of gel pigments: purple, pink, cream
• Small pliers
• Toothpicks
• Dremel and small drill bit
• Large jump ring for each ribbon
• 2 small key rings for each ribbon
• 1 large key ring for each ribbon
• Heat gun

DIRECTIONS:

1. Pour a thin layer of resin in the bottom of the mold. Wave the heat gun over the liquid resin to pop any bubbles. Use the UV light for 30-60 seconds. On the next layer, add pigments, glitters & embellishments. Build up the resin in the mold in layers. Take your time and use the UV light after each layer. Once you get close to the top of the silicone mold, pull the ribbon out of the mold and flip it over so the front side is face up. Put a very thin layer on the front side and push it to the edges with a toothpick. Then use the UV light 60 seconds. Flip it over and repeat the topcoat on the backside of the ribbon to get a clean, smooth finish. With the Dremel and drill bit, make a small hole at the top of the ribbon. Using small pliers, open up the jump ring and squeeze it into the hole of the ribbon. Attach the two smaller key rings to the jump ring. Attach the large key ring to the small key rings.

JOANN HACKS:

• After you take the ribbon out the mold, flip it over and apply a thin layer of resin to the top surface. Hit it again with the UV light to harden the last coat.
