SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1 Dozen hard boiled eggs
- Cricut Machine
- Cutting Mat
- Removeable Vinyl
- Weeder
- Solid Core Cardstock
- Glue Stick
- Natural Dye Color Agents (such as beets, red/purple cabbage, berries, onion skins, turmeric, paprika, tea, and coffee)
- White Vinegar
DIRECTIONS:
EGG DECALS
- Hard boiled the eggs first and let them cool.
- Open design space. Insert desired shapes and images onto the canvas.
- Scale art to around 1" or smaller.
- Cut shapes onto removeable vinyl.
- Weed excess vinyl from the page.
- Place the vinyl decals onto clean, room temperature hard boiled eggs. Decals can be transferred by hand or by using the weeding tool.
- Press decals firmly to ensure a tight seal on the eggs.
- Place you prepared eggs in the solution color bath of your choice.
- Once eggs have reached desired color, remove them from the dye bath and let them air dry.
- Remove the stickers once eggs are completely dry.
DIE-CUT HOLDERS
- Open Design Space. Upload die-cut holder .svgs and add to the canvas.
- No scaling is required for most eggs.
- Cut holders from card stock.
- Wrap the holder around the egg and glue into place. Cut off excess paper if needed.
- Egg dyes from wet ingredients such as beets, red or purple cabbage, berries and onion skins (white and red).
- Cut food item into small pieces. Place in a pot and cover with 1-2" of water. Add 1 Tbsp of white vinegar for every cup of water.
- Heat water to a boil and then lower to a simmer for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Strain solid ingredients.
- Allow water to cool to room temperature. Soak eggs for several hours or overnight.
- Egg Dyes from Dried Ingredients such as Turmeric, Paprika, and Black Tea.
- Boil water.
- Add 1 Tbsp of dried ingredients (1 tea bag) and 1 Tbsp of white vinegar for every cup of water.
- Stir to dissolve dried ingredients. Seep tea until water has cooled to room temperature.
- Allow water to cool to room temperature. Soak eggs for several hours or overnight.
- To use coffee, brew a strong pot of coffee. Add 1 Tbsp of white vinegar per cup of coffee. Allow coffee to cool to room temperature. Soak eggs for several hours or overnight.

- Try soaking eggs in multiple dye baths for layered colors. Experiment with white and brown eggs to see what colors you can create.
