Fuse wrong side of purple stretch velvet to fusible interfacing per packaging instructions.
Cut (1) template C and (1) template D from the fused velvet and (1) each from purple satin.
With wrong sides together, baste velvet cut from template C to satin cut from template C. Fold in half with right sides together and sew along straight edge. Fold so that the center seam aligns with the center front and sew along curve at point as marked on template. Turn right side out.
With right sides together, pin brim pieces together. Sew along outer edge of brim.Turn right side out. Bast inner edge of brims together.
Pin brim to hat top opening. Sew around inner brim. Cut a length of purple satin 2" wide. Turn under 1/4" on both edges. Hand stitch in place over exposed seam of inner brim.
Cut a length of ribbon to go around the base of the hat. Pin in place, turning under one end and overlapping raw edge of the other end at the back. Tack in place at several points along the bottom edge of the ribbon. At the midpoint on either side of the hat (above where the ears would be positioned) tuck the ribbon under itself so that it lays flat against the hat. Tack in place as necessary.
Cut (2) 18" lengths of ribbon. Fold under one edge and tack in place at the side midpoint on the underside of the hat. Repeat on the other side.
