SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Black & white striped oilcloth fabric
- Gold & white polka dot oilcloth fabric
- StandardGrip Machine Mat - 12"x 24"
- Sewable fabric stabilizer
- Iron
- Press cloth or clean cotton cloth
- White ribbon
- Gold glitter ribbon
- Sewing machine
- Strong adhesive hook & loop fastener
DIRECTIONS:
SIZE: 5 1/2"x 7 1/2"
PREPARATION:
- Cut fabric to fit the 12"x 24" mat.
- You will need 2 pieces for each style of fabric.
- Following the manufacturer's instructions, apply stabilizer to the back of one piece of black and white oilcloth and the back of one piece of gold polka dot oilcloth.
- Be sure to use a press cloth or clean cotton cloth to avoid melting the oilcloth.
- Remove paper backing.
- Stack the two black and white pieces of fabric, wrong sides together, sandwiching the fabric stabilizer between them.
- Use the iron and press cloth or clean cotton cloth to fuse the pieces back to back.
- This will create one double-sided piece of oilcloth.
- Repeat the process for the gold and white fabric.
CUT:
- Follow the instructions in Design Space to cut images from the prepared oilcloth.
ASSEMBLE:
- For each snack bag: Cut a 12" length of ribbon.
- Center one end of ribbon on the notched end of the oilcloth.
- Use sewing machine to stitch in place.
- Fold short straight edge of bag up 6".
- Use sewing machine to sew along each edge to create pocket.
- Continue to stitch around flap portion of bag.
- Fold notched edged of bag toward pocket.
- Wrap ribbon around bag.
- Create fastener by adhering strong grip hook and loop fastener to ends of ribbon.
