DIRECTIONS:

To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.
  1. Fold t-shirt in half lengthwise and press with iron. Cut out templates and align with center crease. Trace templates with white chalk and cut out. Cut out the centers of the letter templates (the B and the O centers) and trace onto the scrap black t-shirt material. Cut out and set aside.
  2. Turn shirt inside out. Align cotton knit fabric so that it covers cut-out areas and trim so that it's a little larger than what is needed. Line edges of cut-out areas with fusible bonding web tape, gingerly set cotton knit fabric back over top, and iron as directed by the fusible tape manufacturer.
  3. Flip t-shirt right side out and use the letter templates to place the letter center pieces, and adhere with a little bit of fusible tape.
  4. Begin to embroider using a back stitch. Secure a section of the t-shirt in an embroidery hoop. Start with a single straight stitch and continue along the edge of the ghost, or lettering, or lettering centers, wherever you want to start, by bringing the needle up a space ahead and then bringing your needle back down into the same hole at the end of the last stitch. Continue along all the cut edges of your t-shirt. Secure embroidery threads by knotting together inside of the shirt wherever needed.
  5. Use the same embroidery technique to make the ghost face with black embroidery thread.
