SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 100% cotton fabric for mask: 1/4yd Rose print, 1/4yd Animal print
- 3yds or 1 pkg wide black bias tape, 1 1/4"
- Pattern template (download PDF under print description)
- Basic sewing supplies
DIRECTIONS:
- Download the pattern by clicking “download PDF" Print Description.
- Cut out patterns using cutting directions.
- Seam allowance is 1/4" unless stated otherwise.
- Cut two Rose print (flowers growing up). Place pieces right sides together and sew the outer curve. Repeat with Animal print pieces.
- Open both mask halves and press both seam allowances to the right.
- Topstitch down the seam allowance, about 1/8" from the seam.
- Match front and back pieces wrong sides together, nesting center front seams.
- Baste layers of mask together using 1/8" seam allowance around the edge of the mask.
- Apply bias tape to the both sides of the mask. Trim bias tape to be even with the rest of the mask.
- Cut two 40" pieces of bias tape for the top and bottom ties. Center the bias tape and pin across the top edge of the mask folding over the edges.
- Topstitch along the edge of the bias.
- Center the other tie along the bottom of the mask and sew.
- Finish ties by folding twice and tacking into place or knotting ends.
