SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Wired ribbon: 3 colors, equal widths
- Hot glue gun/glue gun sticks
- Pinking shears
- Sharp scissors
- 24-gauge wire
DIRECTIONS:
- For the ribbon chain:
- Cut the wired ribbon into short strips with pinking shears - about 10" long for 1 1/2" wide ribbon; about 14" long for 2 1/2" wide ribbon.
- Fold a ribbon strip into a loop.
- Secure with hot glue.
- Loop the next ribbon strip through the first loop.
- Secure with hot glue.
- Continue the process for the whole chain.
- For the bows:
- Unspool the wired ribbon.
- Fold in half lengthwise.
- The folded edge will be the center of the bow.
- Make the bow by measuring 5" out from the center on either side; bend the wire.
- Measure another 5" back in towards the center on either side.
- Wrap wire around the top of the bow tail.
- Wrap another piece of wire around the center of the bow.
- Measure the tails to the desired length (between 26" and 36".)
- Cut the ends at a 45-degree angle, longest point on the outside.
- Cut a scrap piece of ribbon to 3".
- Fold the edges of the 3" ribbon towards the center.
- Wrap the 3" ribbon around the center of the bow.
- Secure with hot glue on the back.
- Trim excess ribbon.
