- 2 1/2yds of Gold Trim for Front Lapel, Collar and Cuff
- 2 pkg Yaya Han Swirl Applique
- 6" of Gold Velvet for Epaulettes
- 3/4yd for Metallic Fringe for Epaulettes
- 6" of Cotton Batting for Epaulettes
- 1 1/2yd of Fusible Interfacing for Lapel and Front of Vest

DIRECTIONS:
- All seams are 5/8" unless stated.
- Follow vest on pattern instructions.
- Follow pattern jacket for the Ring Master costume out of red fabric. Cut out lapel, collar and cuff out of black. Sew jacket to pattern instructions. Add gold trim to collar lapel and cop part of cuff. Add and press applique to lapel and cuff.
- Epaulettes: Trace on to Kraft paper a shape to look similar to a flat light bulb. It will be 7" long at the fullest part narrowing to 2" at the collar, add seam allowance. Shape can be adjusted. Cut 4 velvet, 2 batting, and 4 fusible from Epaulette pattern. Press fusible to velvet. Lay batting to wrong side of fusible velvet, sew right sides together leaving narrow open for turning. Turn, press. Sew or glue fringe to Epaulettes, hand sew to neckline under collar and near shoulder.
JOANN HACKS:
- Epaulettes are an ornamental shoulder piece. Metallic trim can be added layer on top of layer for a dramatic effect.
