Rated 5 out of 5 by from Actually dyed my dress the color I wanted I recently purchase this a week ago and I came back to get another to dye some other stuff 😭 but I have a polyester dress which was white and I wanted it a darkish tan color and this dye actually got the results I wanted it was my first time trying as well this was also the only store that had brown online I found out there’s only 1 rit dye in the shade brown and I’m glad I got to find it here. I was also surprised to find that it didn’t dye the metal pieces or the clear plastic that got in the dye mixture as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sandstone is more red The actual color is more red than tan. The computer picture matches the existing color close enough, but the result is more of a redish brown.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great. Must process a long time I used this on a cotton poly blend 35/65. It’s outer shell material for a jacket and so was reticent to a sort any water when I tried to do the pre-soak. I almost gave up then, but glad I continued. It took almost a full hour to really get the color to permeate. I wasn’t sure after half an hour that it would work. Purple and blue seemed to work better than green for me, but maybe I didn’t have the heat high enough for the green. Did it on a stovetop in a giant stock pot. (Photo is after some assembly. Can’t find intoal photo. Beginning color was beige/camel)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Wigs I bought super pink and royal purple here while I had to get racing red elsewhere. I needed to dye my wig that I wanted to use for a costume so I used this. I made sure the wig was able to handle heat before trying this and I also made sure that I had wefts of the wig I could test on. (The wig originally had a ponytail that I cut off and turned into wefts for something else) Honestly looks great considering I was starting from a pale purple shade and not white. Its not the color I expected considering I used rits website to figure out how much to use of each color to get the purple shade I liked but I also came into this knowing my wig wasn't white and that the pale purple was gonna add to the mix. The wefts also helped in seeing how long to keep my wig in for. The wig will do better with water that is at 180°F (just at simmering, not boiling) I kept the wig in the pot for 5 mins and behold a darker violet color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works on polyester wedding dresses My daughter bought a beautiful wedding dress from a thrift shop and wanted to make it into a prom dress. We used mostly sandstone with a bit of pink and got a beautiful peachy color. It would have been darker had we used more dye. We used the hottest water from the kitchen faucet and dyed it in the stainless steel sink. We were warned against dying synthetics but I would definitely do this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful if you know how to dye Its been a while since I dyed fabrics until now. This time I followed instructions except I used different fabric materials all in one pot with half a bottle of Rit Dyemore Synthetic and a cup of vinegar (Crepe, polyester/cotton, knit/cotton and denim) I also applied Rit colorstay in separate pot with cool water according to the instructions (I hope I'm right lol) and this is how my swatches came out. No photo editing.
