SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Toy Story Fleece Fabric Collection
  • 2 pkgs 1/2" pre-made piping
  • 24oz fiberfill
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Finished Size: 26" x 8" Seam allowance: 1/2"
  2. Cut two 27" round circles = top and bottom
  3. Cut one 9" x 52" strip = side (cut two pieces and stitch together)
  4. Cut two 3" x 12" rectangles = handle
  5. Pinning the piping on one of the circles, line up raw edges and stitch along the stitching on the piping. Use a contrasting thread that is easy to see (this will make sense later).
  6. Pin the side piece to one of the circles, right sides together and matching raw edges. Pin all the way around until you come to the other end. Pin the ends of the side piece together. Stitch the side seam first, trim off excess fabric and stitch around the circle (see diagram, click download project PDF to print).
  7. Handle – Place fabric right sides together, matching raw edges and stitch in place. Turn handle right side out, tuck in the edges, press, and stitch onto your side piece, leaving some slack in the middle. double stitched a rectangle with an X in the middle.
  8. Turn wrong side out again and pin the other circle on top (right sides together). Stitch around the length of the circle leaving a 6" gap. Turn inside out, fill with fiberfil and stitch the opening closed.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kids & babies love it! I've made several of these floor pillows. My grandkids love it, & love being able to pull it around with them because of the handle. I've made them for showers & the moms, then the babies, love it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Skip this project This project is poorly written. Who ever wrote this probably didn’t make the pillow. The piping was never explained in instructions and the legs. Even called and emailed questions, never received any help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Instructions are for the wrong project There is no way these instructions are for a round pillow. It refers to "8 legs", a handle, and "pointed end". There is no pointed end on an circle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What? This is the most poorly put together tutorial I have ever seen. The measurements are off, the instruction are lacking, and the technique is not good. Not surprised I will have to go back to joann to buy more fabric and stuffing than the required per instructions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Instructions incomplete and with errors. Going over the instructions, 1) it mentions cutting two 3x12 rectangles for the handle. As far as I can tell, there is no handle for this floor pillow! 2) the piping should be stitched to EACH ONE of the circles, not just one; 3) then after sewing the side piece to one of the circles, pinning and stitching the remaining circle must be done, leaving an opening for turning and stuffing; 4) hand stitch opening closed. Joann's instruction writers should be more diligent in making sure their instructions are correct and complete before publishing!
