Won’t heat over 135 degrees, only steams on the highest setting (not on two dots or even anywhere in the three dot area except on the far right) probably because it doesn’t get hot enough in the first place. I didn’t pay this much for a paperweight. My second Rowenta in a year, I should have learned the first time.

It’s extremely efficient and powerful. Ironing with this iron makes the job fast and easy. The settings are easy to read and can be used on many different materials. It heats up very quickly. I have never had a steam iron before and that was a really neat feature. The iron I normally use for my craft projects turns off quickly and then when I go to use it it comes back on. This one after sitting there longer than 5 minutes was still on and iron was still very hot and has not turned itself off yet. It has great features but the weight of the iron and the fact after 5 minutes ot hadn't turned off makes it almost not worth it for me. (10 minutes the light starts blinking but iron still very hot)

Not only can you use plain tap water in it, but it also has a self cleaning feature to prevent calcium buildup if you have hard water! It has over 430 steams holes that makes the task of ironing quicker and easier. The tip of the iron is made to get into those corners and pleats. The sole plate is scratch resistant so those zippers and metal objects on clothes won’t ruin it. A great feature is that it has a safety and off feature. If not used with a period of time, the iron will shut itself off. Ot that this really matters, but it is a beautiful teal color.

So not worth doing that. This is a quality product, with appropriate heft and settings to do all your ironing/pressing needs. Easy to use/easy to read dial and function keys as well as an ergonomic handle make this a top of the line product. And I enjoy not having to try and read any digital displays. The steam output is perfect, both in volume and heat, and there is no sputtering or out of place excessive water droplets like in lower end products. I'm sure this iron will last me the rest of my ironing days and am very happy to have this brand and model for my use. You can never go wrong with quality construction form a company that researches and produces the best tool for the job. Highly Recommended!

It heats up and maintains temperature very well. The only drawbacks were the tip didn't seem to be as hot and if you left the auto steam on and the temp wasn't set high enough it would drip water out of the plate. Likes - Wide range of temperatures for different fabric - Auto steam works good - Tap water is recommended - Easy to fill and empty - Heats quickly Dislikes - Not much for instructions/documentation - Tip is not as hot as the rest - if auto steam is on and the temp is not high enough it will drip

It's definitely worth paying a little more and getting quality like this one. It glides over my shirts and the steam comes out very evenly, with no dripping so far. It's got a little weight to it but not too much. It just feels good and balanced in my hand. It's beautiful too!

First of all, it has a high precision tip that makes it easy to iron in the corners of fabric. Second, it’s easy to see how much water remains in the water window. It has a powerful burst of steam and a precise spray nozzle. I love that it has a safety auto off switch as well. I have been using this iron for a few weeks now and I can say that my clothes are wrinkle free!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Absolute Best Iron [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Rowenta Pro Master Xcel steam iron is the absolute best iron I have ever had, and I have had quite a few. The iron has a good weight, not too heavy and not too light. The handle grip is comfortable to hold. Filling it with water is so easy without getting water all over the place. The sole plate glides effortlessly over whatever you are ironing. I love the two safety features, it will shut itself off in the upright position after 8 minutes of non use and it will shut itself off in 30 seconds if it is laying on it's side or left on it's sole plate, I tested those features and they do in fact work as they claim. The shape of the sole plate is great for getting around buttons. The steam is absolutely incredible, with so many steam holes in the sole plate the steam coverage is better then any iron I have ever owned. The temperature control dial is easy to turn but I found it slightly difficult to see but after a few uses it wasn't a problem. I also love the vertical steam feature, the burst of steam is amazing. Since every iron I have bought over the last few years has leaked water, I am happy to say that this iron does not leak any water at all. I highly recommend this iron, it is absolutely the best one I have ever used.
