Ruffled Sheer Cami Top

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Simplicity® 8564
• Basic sewing supplies
• Sheer fabric
• Fashion fabric for the stay

DIRECTIONS:

1. Take measurements for tier placements, create notches on pattern.
2. Cut the body of the tank out of the fashion fabric and sheer.
3. For the larger tiers, cut three rows of tulle per measurements .
4. Stitch two rows of basting stitches on the large tiers, gather to the desired fullness.
5. For the smaller tiers, cut 1" wide strips at custom length.
6. Stitch two rows of basting stitches on the large tiers, gather to the desired fullness.
7. Apply the smaller tiers to the hem of the larger tiers.
8. Pin the ruffles in place on the tank matching at markings, sew in place.
9. Repeat all of these steps for the back of the tank top.
10. Complete the rest of the garments per pattern instructions.

JOANN HACKS:

• Hem the smaller ruffle tiers before basting and gathering to create the ruffle effect.
• When creating tiers, it’s best to work flat by not constructing the side seams until the tiers are applied.
• When basting the tiers, adjust your sewing machine to a higher tension and larger stitch length. This gathers the fabric as you stitch.
