[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who does not paint very often (and when I do, I mainly use oil paints) I was a bit hesitant to try these. Previous water colors I have tried have been hard to work with, with either too little pigment, or a seeming inability to blend and not be splotchy. These tube water colors by Koi exceeded my expectations, and worked perfect for my needs! They had much more pigment that other options in a similar price range (and can give a very vibrant and strong color if they are not diluted) yet give a very smooth and even wash for large areas of color! I have tried and loved many other Sakura products (shoutout to their Pigma Microns) and this product definitely lived up to my expectations for their products :) If you are looking for a great paint option, without wanting to shell out the kind of money for true “professional” quality paints, than this would be my recommendation!

Easy to work with and the shades are bright and beautiful. I was able to easily lift some color when I made a mistake which is nice for beginners like me. The color range was good although I felt like it could’ve used one darker green (like a hooker’s green). I was able to easily mix a darker green with the shades i had which is what most artists do anyway. I love the carmine and vermillion shades. Overall, I’m very happy to add these to my watercolorcolor collection.

I’ve always used the kind that come in a pan, so this was a new experience. I like the color range and the pigment. I think it’s nice that they have instructions on the back for different techniques. I didn’t include a picture of the actual art because it’s just little test strips. These water colors are really nice though.

There was a beautiful range of colors, not to mention the incredible colors could create by adding more or less water. The paint dried incredibly quick making it easier to add the next color. I would recommend these for the experienced artist as well as someone just being creative at their kitchen table.
