SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 100% cotton fabric for mask
  • 3yds bias tape - purchased or homemade
  • Pattern template (download PDF under print description above)
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Download the pattern by clicking “download PDF" below Print Description on the right.
  2. Cut out patterns using cutting directions on the pattern
  3. Seam allowance is 1/4" unless stated otherwise.
  4. Match outer mask pieces right sides together and sew the outer curve. Repeat with lining pieces.
  5. Open both mask halves and press both seam allowances to the right.
  6. Topstitch down the seam allowance, about 1/4" from the seam.
  7. Match front and back pieces wrong sides together, nesting center front seams.
  8. Baste layers of mask together using 1/8" seam allowance around the edge of the mask.
  9. Apply bias tape to the 2 sides of the mask. Trim bias tape to be even with the rest of the mask.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this mask pattern! This mask is so much better than the standard pleated mask pattern! It stays put and is more fitted to the face. And there are instructions! There are two PDFs to download - one for the pattern, and another for the instructions. The only reason that I didn't give this a 5-star rating is that more information about the sizing would be helpful. 1 additional size for men would be good, too. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and concise Not sure why the previous reviewer is confused on this. Perhaps new to sewing? The template, which is a pattern, & like every sewing pattern, shows half of a mask. It states "cut 4" .That is of 4 of each size. That means 4 pieces of material. If you are using a print, make sure you have your material right sides together. Place pattern, Cut . Move pattern, cut. You will end up with 2 peices for inner, and 2 pieces outer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pattern is incomplete PDF merely contains a template (in 4 sizes) for the left-hand and right-hand shaped fabric pieces. There are no instructions of how many of each to cut, nor of how to put them together.
