Beginner 1-2 Hours

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Roll of Plain Paper
  • Scrap Piece of Cardboard or Old Gift Card
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Paper Plate
  • Paper Towels and Water for Clean Up
  • Masking Tape
  • Scissors

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Roll out the paper onto your work surface and tape down the corners if needed to prevent rolling.
  2. Add paint to the paper plate.
  3. Cut a piece of cardboard a couple inches wide to use to scrap the paint, you can use an old gift card or anything similar with a straight edge to scrap the paint.
  4. Gather paint along the flat edge and scrape it across the paper. The more paint you pick up the more opaque and farther the streak will go.
  5. Allow the paint to fully dry before wrapping your present.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Play with the amount of paint you use and the pressure applied when scrapping to get different effects in your finished design.
  • You can add notches to your cardboard to create simple lines and designs in your streaks too.
  • Do not over saturate the paper or it may cause your paper to warp or crinkle.
