SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Stretch Maker elastic string, 25m
- Earth jewels or any type of size-appropriate beads for wrist
- Scissors
DIRECTIONS:
- Work on a flat surface or use a jewelry-making caddy to hold beads while assembling.
- Lay out beads in a flattering pattern to extend a bit longer than the diameter of wrist.
- Unwind the stretchy string about 12", but keep it on the spool.
- String the beads.
- Once the end is reached, extend the stretchy string 2 additional inches. Snip off the stretchy string.
- Grab both ends of the stretchy string and tie a double knot as close to the loop of beads as possible. Tie another knot on top to secure the loop.
- Snip off the ends close to the knot.
JOANN Hacks:
- By keeping the string or stretchy strand still on the spool, you don't have to worry about tying the other end until you decide on the length.
- If wire is preferred, there is thin, flexible wire available that is more durable than elastic string, but this requires a set of curling pliers, crimping pliers, wire cutters & clasps.
- When working with flexible wire, it is easy to attach the clasps with the crimping beads to finish off the ends of the wires.
