DIRECTIONS:
- Cut out the pieces you'll need to make the pillows. The body of the pillow, front and back, are 17"x 17". For the trim you'll need to cut two 2" strips that are 68" long. If you can't get one continuous strip just sew two together, the fleece is forgiving. For the band around the middle you'll need to cut on 3"x 68" piece. When cutting be mindful of the nap of your fleece as well as the direction of your pattern.
- Fold your trim piece in half lengthwise to create a long tube, wrong sides together. Stitch down the raw edge using a 1/4" seam allowance.
- Pin your trim piece to the perimeter of your pillow piece. The raw edge of the trim aligned with the edge of the right side of the body. As an optional step baste your trim to the pillow body using a long stitch that's close to the edge. On top of the trim pin the band piece to create a sandwich with the trim in the middle. The right side of the band should be facing the right side of the body. Pin in place and sew using a 1/2" seam allowance all the way around the body of the pillow.
- Now you'll need to pin your second piece of trim to the second body piece. Use the same method as before, basting to keep everything together.
- Pin this piece to the band piece, making a sandwich of the band, trim and body. Right sides together. Pin all the way around the perimeter leaving an opening to turn the pillow right side out. Stitch using a 1/2" seam allowance.
- Turn the pillow right side out and stuff to your desired fullness.
- Hand stitch the opening closed using a ladder stitch.
