Shark Baby Carrier Costume

• Cotton Duck Canvas, 59", White, 1/2yd
• Silver Cosplay Stretch Fabric, 1/2yd
• Silver Metallic Cosplay Fabric, 1/2yd
• Kunin Felt, Presto, Adhesive Back, 9"x 12", Red: 1, White: 1
• Faux Leather, Black, 5"x 6" scrap for eyes & nostrils
• Beacon, Fabri-Tac, Permanent Adhesive, 8oz, 1 (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

BODY
1. To print the patterns, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above). Enlarge patterns.
2. Cut body from charcoal felt.
3. Rough cut body from silver stretch fabric and web to match. Fuse.
4. Cut body from canvas. Tape to back of silver body. Sew 1/4" SA around all edges. Trim silver fabric to canvas pattern shape. Transfer center slit line on pattern to silver fabric. Cut line through all layers with X-Acto knife.
5. Place RST silver fabric and charcoal felt. Sew 1/2" SA around edge. Trim to 1/4" and notch. See photo. Turn RSO through slit in center of silver fabric. Gently push out all points. Topstitch 1/2" from edges.

NOSE
6. Rough cut web and silver metallic fabric for nose. Fuse. Trace pattern to WS and cut clean edges. Locate position on body and fuse to body. Zig zag stitch around the edge of the nose panel to further secure.

MOUTH
7. Transfer the teeth pattern to the back of the white felt. Cut all teeth as one piece using X-Acto knife. Peel the backing off the teeth and place sticky side on the right side of the red felt. Cut the red felt around the outside edges of the teeth. Peel the backing off the red felt and place sticky side on the nose panel. Hand press in place. Zig zag stitch around the outside edge of the mouth.

EYES & NOSTRILS
8. Fuse web to back of faux leather. On back, trace eyes and nostrils. Cut using X-Acto knife. Fuse in place.
9. Attach to baby carrier.
10. Place baby carrier on a flat surface with the front facing up. Lay the shark centered on the carrier. Pin the shark felt back to the carrier in six locations, two on the top, two on the sides above the side fins and two just above the tail. Hand stitch through the felt back and the carrier to secure in place.
