Singer 7285q
Really like this Singer 7285Q. Nice machine to do quilting of all kinds and regular sewing to. The only issue I have is that you don’t get a machine manuel unless you go on a link to read. Or order a hard copy like I did. The set up instructions that came with it are ok to set it up but I like having a hard copy in case I have a question about how to operate the computerized panel and what are all the options for. Otherwise it’s a great machine.

Great Versatile Machine ! Good starter machine!
Had this model for over 12 years! Longest a machine has ever lasted with what I put them through!!! Great for quilting and so much more! Easy to learn to sew on this machine, making it a good choices for you if you're just learning how to sew seams and cut out a pattern! As your skills improve this machine will keep up with you as you tackle buttonholes and zippers! It won't stop there! So many decorative stitches allow you to add your personal touch to edge work! Quilting is made much easier with the extension table Powerful enough to sew through fake fur for teddy bears and 4 layers of fleece!!! Comes with so many great attachments! I'm almost 70 and have been sewing since I was 13!

Singer Sewing Machine kinda Girl.
I am very pleased with my new singer machine. I haven’t sewed on a new machine since the late 70’s when my mom got hers. Then in home Ed class at school had the very same machines. Yes I know I am showing my age. But point being…I am a SINGER sewing machine girl. I was really leery about getting a machine with a computer, but so far everything’s been fantastic.

Nice machine for intermediate quilter. One of the reviews I read before purchasing, “Easy to move as the machine not heavy” helped me make up my mind to purchase.. Became interested in quilting & appliqué as a hobby when I retired. Satisfaction from staying productive even though retired.

Love this!
This machine is awesome! It comes with so many useful presser feet and the most exciting to me is the extendable table. Threading the Needle
The only issue I had first time , was threading the needle manually. I finally figured it out on my own, the directions or videos didn't work for me. Other than that issue, everything is great. Smooth and very quiet. Looking forward to using all of it's capabilities.

Old Dog - New Tricks
I am almost 79 and I just bought my Singer 7285Q to supplement the machine I purchased a year after college. I'm not a quilter, but the "Patchwork" incorporatse all the advancements I've been admiring over the years. I love, as well as thoroughly appreciate, the conveniences. And the range of adjustability in the specialty stitches makes it much easier to customize my projects.
I am still getting used to a new angle for lifting the presser foot and to having a backup stitch which behaves differently. But, I'm not too old to learn - or to have a great 21st Century Singer !

Buyer beware!!
I had a great time with this - for the first 29 days of ownership. On the 1-month anniversary of my purchase the bobbin quit sewing normally. I cleaned it out thoroughly and oiled it per the instructions, redid the threading four times, and changed the needle twice. And the most I could get was 3~6” of straight stitches before the thing would go into s hard jam with a C4 message. So now, I’m having to spend the money to get it to one of the only 2 Singer-approved repair shops in my entire geographic area- and my plan to sew Christmas gifts for my family is on indefinite hold until I can get it back. I’m really disappointed and upset, and I’m stuck.

All around sewing machine
I was looking to buy a new sewing machine for quilting and sewing in general. I checked them over. Asked a clerk for help. She explained the differences between them. Then she showed me the one she has and how much she really likes it. How well it performs, the different things it can do. So i purchased it. I couldn't be any happier with my Sewing machine. Hopefully it will last as long as my last machine does.

It’s great BUT does not come with a manual.
i would of given this a 5 star. but the sewing machine does not come with a manual. The manual is available to download on a device… just not convenient for me.
