But only after a steep learning curve. Catching the lower thread with the needle takes 2-3 needle runs. You need to leave the upper thread tension where it was set by the factory, do not loosen it or you have a thread jam and mess instead of a seam. Also, you need to pull approx. 10-12 inches of upper thread through the needle and make sure it is laid out straight behind the starting point of your seam above your fabric. Lay out about 6-8 inches of lower thread behind your starting point under the fabric. The rough mechanics of this little machine pull a lot of thread back in at first, hence the long allowance of extra thread. Practice with scrap fabric. Do not force-advance the fabric during sewing, let the machine advance the fabric at its pace. I hope this helps!
Date published: 2018-06-04

Rated 5 out of 5 by Agiles5N from Easy and Simple Being that I do not know how to sew however have things from time to time that I need to repair etc. I needed something to be able to quickly do those things. The first one kept losing its tension and the thread was so loose I had to flip the item over and re sew twice. I took it back to the store because it got so bad it locked up on first use. I got a replacement and when I turn the thing on it would not even power up.
