- Titanium White
- Raw Sienna
- Mars Black
- Liquitex Gold Medium
- Liquitex Freestyle Large Scale Paddle Brush - Size 1, or Similar
- Liquitex Freestyle Detail Round Brush - Size 4
- 9"x 12" Canvas (pre-primed
- Penci
- Rule
- Palette Pape
DIRECTIONS:
- Take the ruler and pencil and mark 1 1/2inch sections down the length of one of the long sides of the canvas. Do the same top to bottom on the other long side of the canvas.
- Next, take the ruler and connect the two marks on either long side. Use a pencil to draw a straight line between the two marks.
- Tip: draw the lines lightly to make it easy to remove or paint over.
- Squeeze out about 1 tsp of Titanium White, Raw Sienna and Mars Black onto the palette paper.
- Mix most of the Titanium White with most of the Raw Sienna.
- Then, to soften the color, add a tiny dab of Mars Black and mix.
- Prepare to alternate stripes on the canvas between white and the taupe color mixture.
- Leave the top stripe open, and begin painting the taupe mixture into the second stripe.
- Continue to fill alternating stripes down the canvas with the taupe mixture. There will be 4 taupe stripes once complete.
- Next, clean the brush and pick up the Titanium white on the brush.
- Paint white into the remaining stripes on the canvas.
- Tip: work carefully to stay in the lines. If there is any mistake, touch ups can be done at the end of the project.
- Allow the surface to get touch dry (at least 30 minutes dry time).
- Next, take the backside of the deer silhouette and use the pencil to create a graphite layer around the edge of the design.
- Flip the stag silhouette over and carefully place it where you'd like it to be on the canvas.
- Next, take a sharp pointed pencil and trace the edge of the silhouette. This process will transfer the silhouette to the surface of the canvas.
- Now take the round brush and pick up some of the Mars Black and begin to fill in the silhouette shape.
- Allow to dry.
- Squeeze out about 1 tsp of the Gold Metallic Medium onto the palette paper.
- Wash out the round brush and then pick up some of the Gold Metallic Medium.
- Carefully fill in the taupe stripes with the Gold Metallic Medium. The Gold Metallic Medium will add a soft, beautiful gold luster to the taupe stripes.
- Make any last touch ups needed and allow to dry overnight.

Spectacular Artwork!
I'm glad I got a chance to do this project, which took me two days to complete. The image was a little smaller than I expected but the results turned out great. I hope I can make another painting again soon.
