Star Wars Diaper Bag

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• 1 1/8yd of Star Wars fabric
• 1 3/8yd quilting batting
• 3/8yd of Precious Cargo fabric for top and bottom
• 5" of light blue fabric for straps
• 3/4yd Baby Yoda fabric
• 21" or 22" zipper
• 20" of 1/4" elastic
• 4 D-Rings 1" each
• Kraft paper, pencil, ruler
• Sewing notions

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut two 22 1/2"x 14 1/2" of Star Wars, batting for front and back and Baby Yoda. Stitch batting to Star Wars around all edges.
2. Cut two 9"x 12" of Star Wars for pockets. Fold down 3/8", turn under a 1/4" seam allowance, stitch insert elastic, tacking the elastic to edges. Sew side edges of the front and back together. Attach pockets centering sides to the front and back.
3. Cut Four 22 1/4"x 4" of Precious Cargo fabric and batting. Sew batting to Precious Cargo fabric around outside edges. Place and sew wrong side of zipper to two tops (shorten zipper if needed). Sew the other tops to the right side of zipper then top stitch to the edge. Stitch side seam together then serge raw edges.
4. Cut two 5"x 31 1/2" out of light blue fabric for the straps. Cut four 2 1/2"x 4" out of light blue fabric for D-Rings. Sew Fabric for D-Ring by folding in half turning under 1/4" seams then top stitch. Pull D-Ring through fabric, fold in half, and stitch down. Measure in 3" from the each side of the front and back, place D-Ring tab, stitch down.
5. Cut 15 1/4"x 8 1/8" for bottom, out of Precious Cargo fabric, batting and Baby Yoda fabric. Stitch batting to Precious Cargo fabric around all edges. Stitch bottom to the front and back rounding the edges slightly. Sew Precious Cargo fabric top to front and back to Star Wars front and back. Sew Baby Yoda front, back and bottom together. Attach to Precious Cargo top of bag.
6. Press strap in half, stitch edges. Fold over 1/4" seams and top stitch. Fold edges over D-Ring then top stitch closed.
